Tim is a Research Analyst at VVA Economics & Policy in Brussels.
Throughout his studies and previous professional experiences, he has gained knowledge about a range of policy areas including economic, fiscal and employment policy. His expertise relates in particular to desk research, data collection (interviews) and qualitative analysis.
Before joining VVA he was a Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN). He contributed to the fiscal and economic surveillance of EU Member States throughout the European Semester process and conducted research on digital taxation. Prior to this, Tim was a Parliamentary Assistant to a Member of the German Parliament and a Research Assistant at the Free University of Berlin’s Centre for International Political Economy looking into the troika-debtor negotiations during the eurocrisis. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Relations. In his Master’s thesis he analysed the European Semester’s impact on national taxation policy.
Tim is a native German speaker, and he is fluent in English, French and Italian. In his free time, he likes singing and learning new languages.
